  Update! Thanks to the efforts of the Take Back the Filter Campaign, CPSC, and proactive consumers, the Clorox Company has announced a new U.S. recycling program for Brita water pitcher filters, beginning January, 2009.
  
  The Take Back The Filter campaign requested that CPSC weigh in on the issue of Brita water filters being designed for disposal instead of being properly managed by Brita as they already do in Europe.
