CPSC Offered First Webinar!
The California Product Stewardship Council (CPSC) hosted its first webinar on 12/16/09, to discuss mercury thermostat recycling under California’s new law, AB2347, the Mercury Thermostat Collection Act of 2008. The new law went into effect July 1st and the Thermostat Recycling Corporation (TRC) has begun collecting mercury thermostats from participating Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) wholesalers and household hazardous waste programs.
The webinar was free to to California Local Governments, HVAC Wholesalers and Contractors, to explain how the program works, how to get a free collection bin for their household hazardous waste program, and how to get their local HVAC wholesalers into compliance. We need their help to ensure that the program is effective and that all stakeholders are complying with the legal requirements. See Webinar Agenda.
This webinar was provided by CPSC with the support of the Thermostat Recycling Corporation,
the Sierra Club and the Department of Toxic Substance Control.
